What is this tool?

The Age Calculator tells you exactly how old you are—or anyone else—in years, months, and days. Enter a birth date and optionally an "as of" date, and you get a precise breakdown: how many years have passed, how many months, how many days, and the total number of days and hours. No more fuzzy guesses or counting on your fingers. Whether you need your exact age for a form, to calculate someone's age at a specific point in time, or to satisfy curiosity, the tool does it in seconds.

Birth date is required; "as of" date is optional. If you omit the "as of" date, the calculator uses today. That's perfect for "how old am I right now?" If you enter a past or future "as of" date, you get the age at that moment. Useful for historical research ("How old was Einstein in 1921?") or planning ("How old will my child be on their first day of school?"). The math accounts for months of different lengths and leap years, so results are accurate.

Output includes years, months, days, total days lived, and total hours. Total days helps with life milestones or scientific calculations; total hours is a striking perspective. All calculations run client-side in your browser. Your birth date never leaves your device—important for privacy. No API calls, no stored data.

Use the Age Calculator for official forms that ask for precise age, for genealogy or biography research, for event planning (e.g. age-appropriate activities), or for teaching children about time. It's also handy when converting "born in 1985" to "38 years old" for quick reference. The tool assumes the Gregorian calendar; for historical dates before its adoption, results are approximate.
