What is this tool?
Favicons are the small icons that appear in browser tabs, bookmarks, and mobile home screens. A single favicon.ico used to be enough; now devices expect multiple sizes—16x16, 32x32, 180x180 for Apple, 192x192 for Android. Creating all of these manually is tedious. This Favicon Generator takes one image and produces a complete favicon pack: ico, PNG sizes, and Apple touch icon. Upload, generate, download. All processing happens in your browser.
Upload a square image (PNG or JPEG recommended). The tool generates the required sizes and packages them for download. Use the ico for legacy browsers, the PNGs for modern browsers and PWA manifests, and the Apple touch icon for iOS. Add the link tags to your HTML head; instructions are typically included. One upload, one download, all formats. No server storage—your image is processed locally and discarded.
Source image quality matters. Use at least 512x512 for best results across sizes. A blurry or pixelated source will look worse when scaled. Simple, bold designs work better at small sizes. Avoid fine details that disappear at 16px. The tool handles the scaling; you provide a good source. Designers often export from Figma or Illustrator at high resolution and run it through here for final delivery.
Favicons improve brand recognition and professionalism. A missing or default favicon suggests an unfinished site. This tool makes it easy to ship a complete set. Bookmark it for every new project that needs favicons. Fast, private, and no signup.
